Reaching New Heights in 2017

Sharing is caring!

Reaching New Heights in 2017 is only as close as your true desire.

New Year’s Resolutions are often made and quickly forgotten by the end of January.
In fact, most resolutions have been kicked to the curb by January 17th.

There is a difference in making resolutions and setting goals.
Resolutions come from the head, where as goals are from the heart. The success
in achieving your goals is the fact that they come from a desire within you.

As you look forward to a new year, why not take some time to reflect on
what you truly desire for yourself this year. Set some goals and then
take the steps necessary to achieve those goals.

Old habits and patterns are sometimes hard to break. We may wish them away and
want to do better and be more, but without practical tips and advice along with
the creation of new habits, we remain stuck in the same old patterns.

Not this year – this year you are going to reach new heights in your well-being
and health.

Here are three practical tips to get you started

in reaching your goals this year:

Take Time for You:

Before anything can be different in your life, you must take time for yourself. Taking time out for yourself is not a selfish attitude; it is a practical step toward refreshing your well-being.

Give yourself a minimum of 15 minutes a day to meditate, listen to meditative
music, read spiritual verses, or pray. This is your time, put away all distractions and quietly reflect.

Start Your Day the Right Way:

How you start your day determines how your day will flow. Negative thoughts and feelings will only pull you down, and once you’re in that pit, it’s hard to get out.

Learn how to turn your day around from the moment you get up. We all have obstacles to starting our day with a smile and a laugh, but you are the one who determines how your day goes. So, when your children aren’t cooperating or you can’t find your keys as you hurry out the door, or you overslept, or …. and the list goes on and on; make the decision to laugh it off.

Rather than get upset or allow fear to control you, laugh it off or just start singing. Again, it isall about your well-being.

Get Yourself Organized:

Whether your goals are personal or business, you must get yourself organized.

You want to lose weight? Well, you must be intentional and get yourself organized. What’s in your pantry? Anything in those cabinets that will help you lose weight?

You want to save a certain amount of money by the end of the year? What’s your plan of action to achieve this goal?

Getting organized will take some effort, but once it’s done, all you have to do is maintain the system.

I’ve never been a goal setter because I couldn’t stick with them. Over the past
few years I’ve discovered that I was setting myself up for failure because my
goals were unrealistic and my expectations were too high. I now know that
setting goals are achievable when I set goals that really mean something to me.
I’ve accomplished much more over the past three years than I have in any
of the years past; all because I took the time to really determine the “why” of my goals.

You’ll accomplish your goals too when you determine your “why” and set your course toward a positive course. Sure, you’ll hit speed bumps along the way, but so what? Pick yourself up, brush yourself off, and get back on track.

It is as easy as that.
