8 Benefits of Fruit Infused Water

Sharing is caring!

Tired of drinking plain water?

Let’s add some flavor by choosing your favorite fruit and making fruit infused water. Not only do you enhance the flavor of your water naturally, you also benefit from the fruit’s vitamins and minerals.

We typically need to drink, in ounces, 50% of our weight in water. If you weigh 150 pounds, then you’ll need to drink at least 75 ounces of water each day. This much water can get boring very quickly.

We start the day off with good intentions, but as the day progresses, we get to where we can’t take another swallow of plain water. This is when we reach for the chemical and sugar laden water enhancers or fruit flavored water. Check their ingredients, you’re not benefiting due to the added chemicals. The artificial sweeteners may not have any calories, but it’ll kill your gut bacteria; which messes up your digestive system.

Throw the water enhancers and flavored water away and grab some fruit. Water infused with fruit not only flavors your water, it also provides you with many natural benefits.

Here are 8 benefits you’ll get from adding fruit to your water…

Satisfies your hunger and your sweet tooth

Many times when that “hunger attack” happens, you are actually thirsty.

I’ve learned to grab a glass of water first to see if I’m hungry or just thirsty. With fruit infused water, I not only satisfy that hunger feeling, but I also curb the desire for something sweet.

Provides a toxin flush

There is nothing better than a natural detox. Adding apples to your water is a perfect example of using fruit as a natural toxin flush.

Improves your digestion

Water helps your digestive system absorb the nutrients from the foods you eat. Adding fruit infused water to your daily routine will give you a healthier digestive system. Plus you’ll get added nutrients from the fruit.

Jumpstarts you metabolism

Drinking water naturally increases your metabolic rate. Adding apples, pears, or citrus fruits to your water will help boost your metabolism too. Add some spices, like cinnamon, for some additional flavor and boost.

This is the benefit I like the most, I’m always looking for something to get me going, especially in the afternoon when the 3:00 slump hits. Grabbing a glass of fruit infused water perks me up and allows me to finish the day strong.

Improves your immune system

Add some fruits rich in Vitamin C and E and you’ll strengthen your immune system naturally. The fruits will help you maintain a balanced pH, which can lower your chances of getting various diseases.

Increases your energy

Your body’s natural energy gets a boost when you drink fruit infused water. Fruits are loaded with antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, which work naturally to give your body more energy.

Increases your workout results

We need to exercise everyday, regardless if we want to or not. The more water we drink, the better our muscles are hydrated; which helps with our recovery time. Adding fruit infused water to our daily diet, not only increases our hydration, but also gives us the benefit of the antioxidants, vitamins and minerals.

Keeps you younger

The best benefit of all. The more water you drink, the plumper your skin will be. For years I basically was dehydrated because I just didn’t like drinking water. Now that I drink water throughout the day, my skin is well hydrated and healthy. Adding fruit infused water also nourishes my skin with the extra vitamins and minerals.

The best part about infusing your water with fruit is the ability to have a different fruit flavor everyday. You can have water with one fruit or a mixture of fruits. Add some herbs or spices to give your fruit infused water a little kick. Cinnamon is great with many of the fall fruits, while mint will perk up your summer fruits.
